I'm Nobody Who Are You?

I've been thinking about this poem by Emily Dickenson lately:

Sometimes the best places to ski are ponds and fields.

I’m Nobody! Who are you? (260)

I’m Nobody! Who are you?
Are you – Nobody – too?
Then there’s a pair of us!
Don’t tell! they’d advertise – you know!

How dreary – to be – Somebody!
How public – like a Frog –
To tell one’s name – the livelong June –
To an admiring Bog

Kingfield is an outdoor playground for almost anything you would want to do outside;  we have trails for hiking, four-wheeling, biking, Nordic skiing, and snowmobiling.  We have mountains, rivers, ponds, woods and waterfalls.  Our area has so many natural treasures!  Additionally, our town has all the ammenities needed for a supurb outdoor recreation destination.

As school budgets are cut and small industry squeaks by, our town needs the revenue more than ever.  People who have lived here for generations often resist the idea of an influx of tourism.  I can see their point of view.  Who would want to change this idyllic place?

On the other hand, the more outdoor enthusiasts there are, the more potential conservationists there are.  Like teaching a student something that astounds them, sharing a spectacular natural place with someone is very gratifying.  Sharing knowledge of how to be safe outdoors and how to be stewards of nature is good.  Bringing revenue to our region is good.

But sometimes, when I think about blogging about where to go, or read blogs about this region I feel like we are Frogs.
